Propolis is a resinous material obtained from the buds of poplar and conifers. It´s not avalaible usually in its pure form. It´s obtained normally from the hives because the bees used the components of propolis collected from plants to protect their hives.
Propolis acts as an antiseptic, antiviral and anti-inflammatory. It has been used traditionally to prevent and treat various infectious processes related to the respiratory tract (colds, flu, sinusitis, otitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, asthma, etc.), but it is also used in dermatology to treat abscesses, boils, chilblains, cracks or warts.
